Receipt Ledger is designed as a local-first receipt scanning and expense ledger app for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app handles, what stays on your device, and what third-party advertising services may process.
1. Receipt information
When you scan, import, edit, or manually enter a receipt, the app may handle receipt images, recognized text, merchant name, date, amount, currency, category, and notes. Apple Vision performs text recognition on your device. Receipt images and ledger records are stored in the app's local storage on your iPhone. We do not operate an account system or upload your receipt content to our servers.
2. Camera and photo access
Camera access is used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Photo library access is used only when you choose to import a receipt image. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
3. Optional rewarded advertising
Receipt Ledger includes optional standard rewarded ads provided through Google Mobile Ads. The app does not request a rewarded ad on launch. An ad request begins only after you tap the reward button, review the disclosure, and choose Watch Now. Watching an eligible ad can add scan credits. You may choose Not Now and continue using the app's free and manual-entry features.
Google and its advertising partners may process information such as coarse location, device identifiers, product interaction, advertising data, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data. This information may be used for third-party advertising, developer advertising or marketing, analytics, app functionality, fraud prevention, and security, depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and Google's services.
Receipt images, recognized receipt text, amounts, merchant names, categories, notes, and exported CSV files are not supplied to Google Mobile Ads by Receipt Ledger.
4. Consent and privacy choices
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request and store advertising privacy choices where required. When privacy options are available, you can reopen them from Receipt Ledger settings. You can also adjust tracking and advertising permissions in iOS Settings. Declining an optional ad does not block the core ledger or manual-entry workflow.
5. Exporting and sharing
If you create a CSV export or share information through the iOS share sheet, the destination you choose receives that content. The privacy practices of that destination are governed by its own terms and policies.
6. Retention and deletion
Receipt records and images remain on your device until you delete individual receipts or remove the app. Deleting the app normally removes its locally stored data. Advertising and consent providers may retain information according to their own policies and applicable law.
7. Data sale and account profiles
We do not sell receipt content or maintain user account profiles. Third-party advertising services process advertising-related data as described above and in their own policies.
8. Children's privacy
Receipt Ledger is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's receipt information through an account or server.
9. Security and international processing
Local storage reduces the need to transmit receipt content, but no device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Third-party advertising providers may process data in countries other than the country where you live, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
10. Third-party policies
For more information about Google's data practices, see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information for advertising.
11. Policy updates
We may update this policy when the app, legal requirements, or third-party services change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
